A DUO who perform 'bright songs for dark times' will play Osmington Village Hall on Saturday, October 12.
Edgelarks, formerly known as Hannah Martin and Philip Henry, first played in the village, which is near Weymouth, in 2016 before becoming collectively known as Edgelarks.
Philip is a mesmerising slide guitarist and ‘beat box’ harmonica player and Hannah is a singer and multi-instrumentalist.
They have now released their fifth studio album Feather, a collection of unruffled songs suffused with hope, joy and celebration.
Their music contains stories of wonder from the natural world, tales of rejoicing and long-lost returns and simple thanksgiving for their own surroundings and place in the landscape. Inspired by the world rhythms, British folk roots and the duo’s penchant for making as much noise as possible with only two people, Feather is an upbeat celebration, an incitement to hope.
The duo are fresh from touring with Peter Knight's Gigspanner Big Band.
The gig comes to the village courtesy of Osmington Music. A spokesman said: "We're delighted to have been able to secure this concert with them." A jumbo 'banger in a bun' will be on offer at £2.50.
