A MAN allegedly took an imitation firearm which looked like a pistol into the Sandbanks Yacht Club last month.

Oliver George, 26, is accused of having the BB gun at the club on Friday, September 20.

George, who lives in a £1.8 million flat on the seafront in Panorama Road, is due to appear at Poole Magistrates' Court this morning charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.

Police were called to reports that a man had a firearm tucked into the waistband of his trousers shortly after 5.25pm on the day of the alleged offence.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "Staff at the club reported a man had shown then what was believed to be a gun.

"Officers attended and carried out a search. A man was located at an address nearby."

Following a search, "two gold guns" were located and seized, the spokesperson alleged.
