LIFEBOAT volunteers were called amid concerns for a dog owner searching for their missing dog on the Jurassic Coast.
The Swanage RNLI all-weather lifeboat crew abandoned evening training to carry out the cliff line search from Durston Head to St Albans Head around 9pm on Wednesday.
An RNLI spokesman explained: "The inshore lifeboat headed back to station from the training area in Studland Bay.
"Meanwhile, the lifeboat proceeded to Durlston Head and began its search around ten minutes later.
"Sea conditions by the cliffs were flat, so the inshore lifeboat was asked to join the search, under the command of a lifesaving manager visiting to help training."
Soon afterwards, as both boats approached Seacombe quarry, the St Albans and Swanage volunteer coastguard volunteers reported they had found both the owner and the dog safe and well.
The spokesman said: "Both boats were released and were back at station around 10.10pm."
