BOURNEMOUTH’S biggest and best-loved fireworks party is sure to go with a bang at the Littledown Centre on Saturday, November 2.

The only fireworks event on the south coast with three top quality displays set to music, including the famous White Knuckle – the region’s loudest and latest fireworks show – Bournemouth Fireworks are designed by Pains, Britain’s longest established fireworks display company.

Pains can trace its history back to at least 1590 and it is thought the gunpowder used by Guy Fawkes and his fellow plotters to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605 was made by John Pain, the company’s founder.

“Pains certainly has a pedigree to be proud of and Bournemouth Fireworks has worked with Pains for 23 years now so we know we’re in good hands – it’ll be the greatest fireworks show in town,” said event director Michael Callaghan.

“We’re expecting up to 8,000 people to join us at the Littledown and we’ve been working on the event all year so we know it’s going to be a great night out for all the family.”

As well as the three fireworks displays there’s the free-entry indoor Family Fun Zone, with the amazing wildlife collection of Crazy Creatures, the inflatable zone and the brilliant Get Up & Groove disco.

Outside there’s a giant late-night funfair, licensed bar and a full range of refreshments while the Littledown Centre pitches play host to have-a-go sports sessions with local rugby, cricket, football, netball and tennis coaches, as well as the low-impact sport YBall, which is based at Littledown.

This year Bournemouth Fireworks is again partnering with Relay for Life Bournemouth & East Dorset, a team fundraising challenge bringing families, friends and communities together to beat cancer.

Teams fundraise for life-saving research over the year then in July join an overnight celebration of hope, remembrance and celebration while walking a 24-hour relay in recognition that for those touched by cancer it never sleeps.

Relay For Life will be fundraising at Bournemouth Fireworks at the Littledown.

Gates open at 5pm with fireworks displays at 7pm, 8pm and the White Knuckle at 9pm.

Early bird tickets for Bournemouth Fireworks are on sale until Sunday, October 27 priced at £22.50 for a family, £6.50 for adults and £4 for children. Call 0300 500 0595 or go to eventbrite.co.uk.
