A 27-YEAR-OLD man suffered serious injuries after his motorbike was in collision with a car on Wallisdown Road on Sunday evening.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following the serious injury collision, which took place at 6.58pm between a black Audi A4 and a blue Yamaha motorcycle.

"The rider of the motorcycle, a 27-year-old local man, suffered serious injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics and specialist medics from the air ambulance before being taken to Poole Hospital," said a spokesman. "His condition is described as serious."

The driver of the Audi, a 28-year-old old local man, was uninjured.

The road was closed while emergency services treated the injured rider and for collision investigators to examine the scene.

Sergeant Craig Tatton, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to please contact me.

“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who were in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage of the incident or the manner of riding or driving of either vehicle immediately before the incident.

“Finally, I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding during the road closures while we dealt with this incident.”
