A YOUNG girl from Bournemouth has won a worldwide logo design competition.

Freya Ford, aged 11, was awarded first place for her logo at the House of Ikon’s event at London Fashion Week.

The competition was run by the Wisdom Foundation, a charity who aim to connect the world and reduce global poverty and illiteracy.

Their recent project PennBuddies is all about bringing children from different corners of the world together to learn about each other’s cultures.

Freya’s logo design will be used as the brand logo for this project with full credit given to her design.

As well as this, she has also won the opportunity to travel to China to visit the charities partner fashion brand Jiang Chipao and go to local schools which are using the PennBuddies scheme.

Freya said: “I am delighted at the opportunity of becoming an ambassador for the charity and is really looking forward to travelling to China in October to experience a different culture and meet some of the children and also Jiang Chipao at her fashion house in Chengdu.”

There were four different award categories in which Freya won two, Emerging Talent Award and Best Worldwide Design Award.

In the future Freya hopes to continue her success with the dream of becoming a fashion designer.

Sam Bumford, former miss Dorset and Miss England winner, was the host on the day and is also an ambassador for the Wisdom Foundation and the U.K. ambassador for Jiang Chipao.
