I WALKED from Middle Road, Kinson, to Millhams recycling centre at around noon on 11 September 2019.
With the right documentation and a rucksack filled with cardboard and newspaper.
I am almost 69 years old and a disabled, asthmatic ex-serviceman. I am always in pain.
I was stopped from entering because I was on foot. I explained where I had walked from and protested that I wanted to recycle paper and cardboard to minimise the use of materials and energy.
I was told that I could not enter the site except in a motor vehicle, burning fossil fuels or using energy.
I checked the website before I set off. There is no mention of prohibition of pedestrians.
As a disabled, pensioner, ex-serviceman, I have time and wish to do my bit for the people and planet.
