ENSBURY Park Library will be hosting its annual charity Bake Off competition to raise money for CRUMBS.

The event, which is hosted by the Library Staff and Enpals charity based at the library, will take place on Friday September 13 at the Ensbury Park Library on Columbia Rd from 3:30pm.

The cakes will be judged by The Mayor Cllr Susan Phillips and the Executive Chef from The Hilton Hotel, Matt Budden before they are sold to the public.

Geoff Budden, trustee of the library, said: “This year we have chosen CRUMBS, which is a locally based charity that provides Training for Independence and here again we are hoping to raise funds by hosting a Charity Bake Off with categories for adults and children.

Refreshments will also be sold at the event and a raffle will also be drawn on the day.

The library chooses a charity to benefit from Fund Raising Activities that it hosts. In the past two years, the library has previously hosted fundraisers for Childrens’ Leukaemia Fund and Macmillan Caring Locally, raising £206 and £418 respectively.

EnPals, a Registered Charity based at the library, is aiming to fund the construction of a community room attached to the library and has been busy fund raising and applying for grants to achieve this goal.

This room will enable more community events to take place at the library as at the moment limited space in the main library limits the events that can be held.
