Dorset Council has published a report listing the potential impact of Brexit, when it eventually happens.
You can read the full story here but below is a summary of their predictions.
They have ranked much of the potential impact as a medium risk, and it includes:
- Public disorder
- A rise in hate crime
- Increase in the number of safeguarding referrals to social services
- A return of ex-pats to the area
- Difficulties in recruiting or retaining EU workers within adult social care
- Problems with waste disposal as some the county’s residual waste is exported
And all of the problems could be exacerbated should they coincide with problems caused by bad weather or a widespread outbreak of flu or the winter vomiting bug.
