A SEARCH was launched at Durdle Door on Saturday evening after a bag was found at the water's edge.
Coastguard officials based at Lulworth, Kimmeridge and Poole, as well as officers from Dorset Police, were called out at 9pm to scour the area.
The teams mounted a search between Durdle Door and Bats Head.
A spokesperson from Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team said: "With no information to suggest that the person who owns the bag had come to any harm, or any clues further along the beach, the teams returned to their stations at around midnight.
"Dorset Police and Solent Coastguard continue with their enquires.
"If you own the bag, or have any further information regarding this incident, please contact the police or Solent Coastguard."
