SERVICES on the Weymouth-Waterloo rail line could be delayed or diverted after a person was reportedly hit by a train.
South Western Railway says it has received reports that a person has been struck by a train between Basingstoke and Farnborough.
Power has been switched off in the area of the incident to allow SWR response teams to work with the emergency services.
As a result, disruption is expected until 9pm.
Trains from Weymouth, Bournemouth and Southampton are being diverted via Havant and Guildford where possible.
Tickets are being accepted on Great Western Railways services between Paddington, Reading, Exeter and Basingstoke, and on CrossCountry services between Basingstoke and Bournemouth.
If you or someone close to you has been affected, contact the Samaritans on 116 123 free at any time, on any phone.
