A 23-YEAR-OLD woman died on the level crossing in Sherborne, an inquest has heard.
Annie Daniels suffered catastrophic injuries when she was hit by a train at 12.55pm on August 27. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned on Thursday.
A post-mortem examination found Miss Daniels, who lived in Boundary Close, Yeovil, died of multiple injuries.
British Transport Police were called to the crossing by a member of the public. Paramedics and officers from Dorset Police also attended.
However, Miss Daniels, who worked as a retail assistant, could not be saved. Her death is not suspicious.
A full inquest will take place at the coroner's court in Bournemouth on March 31 next year.
