BOURNEMOUTH Water Leisure, part of South West Lakes Trust, will be holding a Community Open Day at Longham Lakes, near Ferndown.

Visitors will have the opportunity to try a range of activities such as kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, angling and sailing during the Open Day which will run from 11.00am to 4.00pm on Saturday, September 21.

Linda McMullen, Business Manager for Bournemouth Water Leisure, said ‘Our first Open Day, which took place in 2017, was a huge success with over 300 people making the most of the activities on offer. This year we hope to see visitors, old and new, enjoying the activities provided by the clubs who meet at Longham Reservoirs on regular basis.’

Many businesses have come together to offer ‘have a go’ sessions on the day, including Dorset Ultimate Canoe and Kayak Squad, Ringwood & District Anglers Association and Wimborne & District Angling Club, Poole Radio Yacht Club and more.

Guests will also have the opportunity to have a go on a fly simulator, courtesy of Christchurch and District Model Flying Club.
