PLANS have been announced to build a traffic calming measure near schools in Ferndown as part of a cycleway scheme.
Dorset Council is proposing to construct a new vertical raised table on Cherry Grove near the roundabout for the leisure centre and school site.
A public notice issued by the local authority said the measure will reduce traffic speeds and provide a safer crossing for pedestrians and cyclists.
It added: "The cycleway scheme aims to create a safe route to school across King George V playing field between the First, Middle and Upper schools in Ferndown for pedestrians and cyclists and will form part of a wider network of cycle routes serving key areas around Ferndown."
Residents can submit comments on the proposals to Dorset Council up until September 20.
