AN OFFENDER who exposed himself and attempted to make a woman engage in a sex act has been ordered to register with the police for five years.

Adrian Wheatley, of Dorchester Road in Oakdale, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Friday for sentence after admitting attempting to cause a female to engage in sexual activity on May 14, as well as a second charge of indecent exposure, which happened on March 1.

The defendant , 55, was sentenced to a community order, under which he must participate in sex offender programme Horizon for 42 days and a rehabilitation activity requirement for 30 days.

In addition, magistrates ordered him to comply with a five-year sexual harm prevention order, under which he must register with police and offer up his internet-enabled devices for regular checks.

Wheatley was also fined and ordered to pay a total of £500 compensation.
