A MAN caught drink-driving at a motorway service station has been banned from the roads.

Christopher Robert Slatter, 39, was caught drink-driving at Rownhams Service Station on the M27 east on July 9.

When breathalysed by police he had 51 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol.

Slatter, of Norwich Avenue, Bournemouth, pleaded guilty during a hearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court.

He was banned from driving for 12 months.

Slatter was also fined £175, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and court costs of £50.
