A CIRCUS 'Spectacular' has been organised by Poole businesses, as part of an ongoing bid to enhance the town centre as a destination for visitors.

The one-day event is being put on by the Poole Business Improvement District (BID) and includes a variety of free, family-friendly activities.

A Poole BID spokesman said: "During the day, there will be various spectacular circus acts, who are recognised across the world for their extraordinary performances.

"Ranging from an award-winning juggler to a pirate themed acrobat show, there will be something for the whole family to enjoy."

The event, jointly organised by Poole BID and Thirty 12 Events, is just one of the activities Poole BID is undertaking to increase the vitality and viability of Poole town centre.

It is scheduled for Poole High Street and Poole Quay on Saturday, September 14, from 10am-6.30pm.

Events begin on Upper High Street, where entertainment act, Higher Beings, will be inviting guests to try out their circus bikes, unicycles, tightrope or slackline and stilts.

Award-winning act, Arthur the Juggler, will also be on hand showing off his range of skills, as well as well-known children’s entertainers, Marky Jay and Loz.

From 11am, Steve Kaos, who has performed all over the world, will be on the middle of the High Street entertaining guests, with international circus performer, Thomas Trilby.

Children’s entertainer Jamie Jigsaw will delight guests near the Orchard Plaza from 11am, with his magic skills, juggling and stilt walking.

Then, from 2pm on Poole Quay, pirate-themed aerial act, Pokya, will soar above the audience, performing high flying dynamic sequences.

The day of entertainment will end with a slacklining performance from Men in Slacks.
