THE music of some of the greatest names in music will soundtrack the autumn season at Lighthouse, Poole. From Kate Bush, Carole King and The Carpenters, to The Beach Boys, Queen and George Michael, this unprecedented series of tried and tested tribute shows reads like a dream line up to the best festival that never quite happened (see online for full list).

1. Cloudbusting: The Music of Kate Bush on Saturday, September 7 at 7.30pm. Championed as one of the most authentic tributes in the world, Cloudbusting aims to whip up a storm of love for Kate Bush’s music with some unexpected highlights as well as hits like Running Up That Hill, Wuthering Heights, Hounds of Love, Babooshka, This Woman’s Work and Wow.

2. Illegal Eagles on Thursday, September 12 at 7.45pm. Touring for more than two decades, the longevity and continued acclaim for this phenomenal group of musicians are due in no small part to their extraordinary mastery of the Eagles’ distinctive sound on classics such as Hotel California, Take it to the Limit, Life in the Fast Lane, Take It Easy, Lyin’ Eyes and Desperado.

3. Respect: The Aretha Franklin Songbook on Thursday, September 19, 7.30pm. Live concert tribute to the Queen of Soul directed by Racky Plews (Footloose, American Idiot) that will take you on an uplifting musical journey as a powerful sermon is delivered celebrating Aretha Franklin’s life and greatest hits including Think, I Say A Little Prayer, Son Of A Preacher Man, Bridge Over Troubled Water and (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.

4. You Win Again: Celebrating the Music of the Bee Gees on Saturday, September 21 at 7.30pm. Direct from the West End, this unforgettable concert spectacular not only recreates the Bee Gees’ best known hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s including Night Fever, Stayin’ Alive, More Than A Woman, You Should Be Dancing, Tragedy, Massachusetts and I’ve Got to Get a Message to You, it also covers hits they wrote for artists such as Celine Dion, Diana Ross and Dolly Parton.

5. Some Guys Have All the Luck: The Rod Stewart Story, Friday, October 4 at 7.30pm. Capturing the excitement, energy and charisma that have made Rod Stewart a true rock icon, the show includes all those infamous moves and hits like Maggie May, Baby Jane, Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?, Sailing, Tonight’s The Night, and his cover of The First Cut Is the Deepest.

6. Carole – The Music of Carole King on Saturday, October 5 at 7.30pm.

Journey through the music that defined an era telling the story of one of the most successful and admired songwriters in the history of popular music. The show features songs from the Carole King songbook as well as classics from some of music’s most iconic artists and songwriting partnerships such as Aretha Franklin, The Beatles, The Monkees and, of course, James Taylor.

7. The Beach Boys® Tribute Show on Friday, October 11, Theatre, 7.45pm

With a new streamlined narrative yet retaining the punchy professional delivery for which Beach Boyz Tribute Band are renowned the hits come thick and fast with more than thirty classic songs performed completely live, from the rock ’n’ roll pop of early hits to the complex orchestral works of Pet Sounds.

8. Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story on Tuesday, October 29 – Saturday 2 November, Theatre, 7.45pm (Wed, Sat mats 2.30pm)

This multi award-winning West End show first opened in 1989 and returns to Lighthouse as part of its landmark 30th anniversary tour with two hours of hits, including That’ll Be The Day, Oh Boy, Rave On, La Bamba, Chantilly Lace, Raining In My Heart, Everyday and Peggy Sue.

9. Liza Pulman Sings Streisand on Thursday, November 7 at 7.45pm. Fascinating Aida’s Liza Pulman pays homage to one of the finest talents of a generation with history and humour. Hits include Evergreen, People, New York State of Mind, The Way He Makes Me Feel, The Way We Were and You Don’t Bring Me Flowers.

10. ELO Again on Saturday November 9 at 7.45pm. Back with their Return To The Blue tour, celebrating the music of Jeff Lynne and the Electric Light Orchestra. All the big hits are performed such as Mr Blue Sky, Livin’ Thing, Sweet Talkin’ Woman, Roll Over Beethoven, Wild West Hero, and Don’t Bring Me Down.

11. Carpenters Gold on Monday, November 11, 7.45pm West End star and director Vikki Holland-Bowyer and pianist Greg Stevenson with a full band recreate all of The Carpenters’ chart-topping hits including Close To You, Top of the World, We’ve Only Just Begun, Goodbye to Love and Please Mr Postman.

12. Gladys Knight: Midnight Train to Georgia on Saturday, November 16 at 7.45pm. Capturing the essence of the Empress of Soul, Hayley Ria Christian recreates the magic Gladys Knight brought to hit songs like Baby Don’t Change Your Mind, Help Me Make it Through the Night, Try to Remember/The Way We Were, Part Time Love, Licence To Kill and her signature tune Midnight Train To Georgia.

13. Johnny Cash Roadshow: San Quentin Anniversary Show on Thursday, November 21, 7.30pm

Endorsed by the Cash family, this one-off 50th anniversary performance of the legendary San Quentin show from 1969 starring award winning front man Clive John who performs songs from the album alongside hits and favourite songs with Emily Heighway as June Carter, the world-class Spirit band and the JCR Horns.

14. One Night of Queen on Saturday, December 7, 7.30pm. Fronted by Stars in their Eyes winner Gary Mullen this live concert recreates the look, sound, pomp and showmanship.

15. Fastlove: A Tribute to George Michael on Friday, December 20, 7.30pm. Direct from London’s West End, this George Michael tribute show will take you on a musical journey from the moving Jesus To A Child, to the celebration of Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, to everyone’s favourites I’m Your Man and Wake Me Up.
