TWO young people were injured in separate incidents on Saturday and required help from the coastguard.

Officials were called to help South Western Ambulance at Knoll Beach, Studland, where the team assisted an eight year old with a broken arm who was taken to Poole Hospital.

Later, just before 7pm, the team were called to Shell Bay to help an 11 year old who had dislocated his knee.

A spokesman said: "Despite being very brave the young man required pain relief which was provided by the ambulance crew before the knee was put back in place. The team then stretchered him to the ambulance and." It is understood he was treated at Dorchester.
