WEDDING guests from Bournemouth are spending nine per cent less on gifts than five years ago, a study has revealed.
According to a study carried out by candle making supplier Cosy Owl, Bournemouth residents are prepared to spend an average of £45.71 on a gift in 2019, which is slightly above the UK average of £44.97.
People from Wales said they would spend just £35.53 on a gift, while those in Northern Ireland would spend a very generous £85.96 on a gift for the happy couple.
The study also revealed that four out of five people surveyed said they thought it was
unacceptable for couples to have a wedding gift list when marrying abroad, while two out of five believe wedding gift lists are outdated. A third of people said they do not agree with gift lists for second weddings.
