A HOSPITAL trust will appear before magistrates today to face allegations that a patient was 'supplied a substandard medicinal product'.
Representatives for the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals Trust will appear at Poole Magistrates' Court to face a charge of selling a medicinal product which is not of the nature and quality demanded by a purchaser.
Prosecutors say the allegation concerns an incident at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital on December 29 2017.
The complainant, Barbara Curtis, was allegedly supplied with medicine which was below the standards demanded by consumers.
If the trust is convicted, it faces a maximum penalty of an unlimited fine.
