A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a VW Golf overturned on a rural road on Wednesday evening.
Police were called to the Old Sherborne Road near the Buckland Newton turning in West Dorset at 5.45pm after the vehicle flipped onto its roof after hitting a tree.
No one was injured in the collision.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: “A 21-year-old man from the Dorchester area was arrested.
“He has been charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level is above the legal limit and is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 23.”
The road was closed for several hours to allow emergency services to deal with the incident. The car also needed to be recovered from the scene.
It reopened at approximately 8.15pm.
