MEMBERS of Poole Labour have called the ongoing problems with the Twin Sails Bridge a “farce”.

As reported on Saturday, the structure will be out of action until the autumn after more problems were found last week.

Neil Duncan-Jordan, Poole Labour secretary said: “The previous administration completely failed to get to grips with fixing the bridge and had no idea how much the repairs would cost or when they would be completed.

“Now it seems another fault has come to light and the new council equally has no effective or speedy solution.

“Meanwhile. the people of Hamworthy suffer from increased traffic congestion and pollution. It’s a case of different council, same old bridge.”

BCP Council leader Vikki Slade has called an emergency meeting to address what she describes as the “completely unacceptable” situation.
