A DECISION on a proposed new school in the centre of Bournemouth  has been delayed.

Members of the BCP Council planning committee had been due to decide whether to approve the Department for Education plans for the new Livingstone Academy at Thursday's meeting of the BCP planning committee.

The school had hoped to welcome the first students to its Madeira Road and Stafford Road site in September 2020.

But the application was withdrawn from discussion after "new information" was provided by Dorset Police, according to committee chairman Cllr Simon Bull.

Planning officer Simon Gould had recommended that the scheme be approved, despite it providing fewer parking spaces than required by council policy.

The application is expected to come back to another meeting of the committee in the coming months.
