AS the Sandbanks Ferry service will be out of action for seven months between October 2018 and October 2019, should the ferry company provide an alternative service?
They could run a passenger ferry between the jetties in Sandbanks and Studland, next to the fish restaurant, manned by the capable ferrymen.
The number 50 bus could terminate at both sides. Passengers could resume their journey after crossing on the ferry.
This would benefit the affected businesses, the community, the National Trust, the environment and save fuel and time.
This will not solve the car issue but will encourage the use of public transport and increase the footfall to Swanage.
