IT'S SAID to be the most haunted place in Dorset.

And a theatre production which used spooky old Knowlton Church as a background for its publicity shots are now convinced - after they claim the building's most infamous ghost made an appearance in photographs shot to promote a Halloween show.

"We were there last week in the early evening and took the shots we needed," said producer Amir Jardan.

"No one saw anything or felt anything but when we got back and put them on our fan page, someone got in touch to ask if the kneeling girl was meant to be in the picture. When we looked again we couldn't believe it - you can definitely see something there."

Amir said a paranormal investigator who looked at the blurry image - seen on the left overlaying the feet of the actress, was a little girl who had been 'photographed before' at the church, which is near Wimborne.

However the image also answers the description of the 'weeping or kneeling nun' a ghost allegedly seen by others at the ruined church.

"I asked the actor in the image, Mark Lynch, if he'd seen or felt anything during the shoot and he said no," said Amir. "Now I'm thinking we should go up there with a camera again."

The publicity shots are for a show, hosted by actor John Altman - better known as Nasty Nick from Eastenders - which is coming to the Barrington Theatre in Ferndown on October 31.

"It's a fun-filled family show that brings you songs, comedy and magic all the Halloween horror you need. There's a fancy dress competition for the kids with prizes along with sweet stalls and Dracula T-shirts to take home," said Amir.
