PLANS have been submitted to create an additional seven bedrooms at a New Forest care home through a three-storey extension.
Carlton House Rest Home in Barton Court Road, New Milton, is seeking permission from New Forest District Council to carry out the scheme.
A design and access statement says: "(This plan) will provide an additional seven bedrooms for this established residential care home on a highly sustainable site.
"(It will) make good use of available space whilst retaining the character and appearance of the host building and streetscape."
New Milton Town Council has submitted an objection due to the impact the proposal would have on the character of the locality and on the issue of car parking spaces.
Two residents in Barton Court road have also filed objections to the development, citing a variety concerns about how the extension would have an adverse affect on the area.
