A TRAILER being pulled by a tractor collided with a house in north Dorset creating a large hole in the wall.

Dorset Police was called at just before 1.50pm on Thursday to reports of an incident involving a tractor that had collided with a house on Duck Street, Child Okeford, near Blandford.

There was believed to be structural damage to the building so the local authority and fire service were also called to the scene.

A neighbour who was at the scene while this was happening said: "Whoops a tractor's trailer has taken out the end of a house in Child Okeford. Trailer now holding house up so road will be closed until house shored up."

Speaking on Thursday, he added: "I heard the bang from my house.

"They can't move the trailer yet because it's propping up the rest of the building.

"There are cracks up the wall stretching about 12 or 14 feet.

"It's taken out the whole side of the house and left a big hole. You can see right into the stairwell and everything.

"The young lad driving the tractor seemed quite upset."

The road was blocked while emergency services dealt with the incident.

There were no reports of any injuries.
