PERMISSION is being sought to convert a former Stapehill home into a vets practice.
Plans have been submitted to Dorset Council to change the use of Forge Cottage in Wimborne Road West to a new surgery.
If approved, the building would be extended to house a reception area and new consultation rooms with an increase in the size of its existing parking area.
Submitted by a Mr Borrill earlier this month, the application will be considered by Dorset Council planning officers in the coming weeks.
A statement published with the plans says: “This proposal seeks to maintain a quality of development that is sympathetic in terms of its scale, character, materials and layout and is entirely appropriate to the surrounding area.
“The development is in a sustainable location and takes regard of core strategies and aspirations.
“It is also compatible with an established pattern of development within the area.
“Settings of buildings and their occupants are respected with the retention of the vegetation and natural screening around the site border.”
