HOW sad it was to read about the shocking state of the public toilets at Baiter, as described by Violet Phillips’ letter to the Echo printed on July 21.
It beggars belief that after recently being reopened these public toilets should be allowed to be found in this poor and virtually unusable condition.
Once again it would seem that the finger must be pointed at the full-time officers of BCP Council for allowing this to happen.
It seems not to matter of what political persuasion the councillors are, as the officers remain the same and it is they who should be held accountable.
Surely someone within the council should be carrying out regular audits of these areas to ensure that the agreed standard is maintained at all times.
Wouldn’t it be nice if visitors could write in complementing our town on the marvellous condition of public toilets.
