A MAN suffered a broken arm as he tried to break up a fight near a betting shop on Saturday.

Police are calling for anyone with information to come forward after the incident, which happened near Coral in Charminster Road at 6.20pm.

A fight between four men broke out in the street. Another man walked over to intervene.

He was knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked. One of the kicks broke his arm, police say.

A 40-year-old Bournemouth man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Neil Causebrook, of Bournemouth CID, said a number of people were in the road at the time of the attack.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police should get in touch, he said, adding: “I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have been driving past and has relevant dashcam footage to assist my investigation.”
