FILM fans are in for a treat this summer with a number of highly-anticipated blockbusters hitting screens across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch.

Just in time for the school holidays and to help families catch the big flicks, Odeon has launched great value family offers including adults pay kid’s prices.

The family friendly programme at the Odeon Bournemouth BH2 Leisure complex includes multigenerational classic, The Lion King (PG) which comes alive on the big screen with a re-imagining, 25 years since the original on July 19.

Other highlights this summer include The Queen’s Corgi (PG) on July 5, Angry Birds 2 (PG) on August 2 and Dora & The Lost City of Gold (PG) on August 16.

Lighthouse Poole will be showing a selection of film favourites including the 1982 film classic Annie on July 24 as part of its new dementia screening programme and also the latest instalment from Toy Story 4 (G) from July 27 – August 22.

At the Regent Centre in Christchurch there’s a chance to see the perennial 1980s favourite Pretty Woman (15) starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere on July 24 at 8pm and the classic Bullitt (15) on August 1 at 8pm starring Steve McQueen as Detective Frank Bullitt, a hard-nosed San Francisco cop. The Secret Life of Pets 2 (U) follows 2016’s blockbuster about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day and will be shown at various times on August 2, 3 and August 5.
