AFC Bournemouth has teamed up with a Dorset holiday park to offer youngsters a summer of football.

The football club's Community Sports Trust will be returning to Waterside Holiday Park in Weymouth with its Soccer School during the summer holidays.

Last year more than 120 children took part in the initiative, which is targeted at any ability and includes a warm-up, skill games, penalty competitions and small-sided matches.

Phil Hanger, sports and leisure manager from Waterside Holiday Park and Spa, said: “We’re so pleased to have the AFCB team return to the park this year and provide their excellent training programmes – we could have the superstars of tomorrow playing on our field today.”

All holiday makers and holiday home owners at Waterside Holiday Group’s three parks are welcome to sign up to the soccer school on select dates throughout the summer season. Aimed at girls and boys aged four to 14 years old, the sessions are split amongst different age groups and cost £11 per child, per session, or £18 for two children.

This initiative runs as part of AFC Bournemouth’s campaign which aims to get more young people involved in sport within the local area.
