A FACTORY worker died of AIDS in the Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital, an inquest heard.

Romanian-born Catalin Goia passed away less than a month after being admitted to hospital with dizziness, vertigo, swallowing difficulties and nausea.

Assistant Dorset coroner Brendan Allen heard that 38-year-old Mr Goia, who was born in Bucharest, lived at Bourne Pines in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth.

The cause of his death was given at the Bournemouth inquest as complications as the result of the progression of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

The inquest was adjourned until next month to allow for further inquiries to be carried out.
