A FACTORY worker died of AIDS in the Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital, an inquest heard yesterday.

Romanian-born Catalin Goia passed away less than a month after being admitted to hospital with dizziness, vertigo, swallowing difficulties and nausea, the hearing was told.

Assistant Dorset coroner Brendan Allen heard that 38-year-old Mr Goia, who was born in Bucharest, lived at Bourne Pines in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth.

The cause of his death was given as complications as the result of the progression of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

The hearing took place at the coroner’s court at Bournemouth town hall

Mr Allen adjourned the hearing until next month to allow for further inquiries to be carried out.
