A MAN who was allegedly caught driving a Porsche at 155 miles per hour along a Dorset bypass has been charged with dangerous driving.
Daniel Sweeney-Hutt was due to go on trial at Poole Magistrates' Court this week charged with speeding. He had pleaded not guilty to the offence, which prosecutors alleged happened on the A35 Puddletown Bypass on March 19 this year. The speed along the stretch is 70mph.
If he is convicted, it will be the highest speed ever recorded by police in the county.
The defendant, 29 and of Lake Avenue, Hamworthy, has now also been charged with dangerous driving.
He has not yet entered a plea to the charge and the case was adjourned until July 29.
It is alleged that Sweeney-Hutt was caught driving at speed by Dorset Police's No Excuse team.
