EXPLORERS in the New Forest can now feast their eyes on the very best views of the area from atop the New Forest Tour.

The open-top tour, which runs from Saturday, July 6 until Sunday, September 8, offers a panoramic perspective on wandering ponies, picturesque villages and vibrant purple heathland.

Operated by morebus in partnership with the New Forest National Park Authority, last year almost 40,000 passengers hopped on the double-deckers over the nine-week period of operation.

Passengers can enjoy an audio commentary about the area’s culture and history, as well as discounts at venues such as the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Ringwood Brewery and the New Forest Wildlife Park.

The New Forest Tour is a key part of the authority’s aim to encourage more people to leave their cars at home, and is sponsored by local businesses. It stops at local cycle hire centres within the forest, with each tour able to carry up to four bikes.

The tour also provides a boost to local businesses, contributing an estimated £636,000 to the New Forest economy while stopping at local villages and attractions.
