THE buying demand for properties in a New Forest village has increased more than anywhere else across Hampshire in the past 12 months, according to research.
A report by house selling forecaster Propcast claims Brockenhurst's SO42 postcode saw a 22 per cent growth in buyer demand over the past year.
The area was just one of nineteen across the county's postcode districts to see an increase, leaving a slip in demand across the remaining 79 per cent of the county.
Figures for this month suggest 82.6 per cent of Hampshire postcodes have a "market heat temperature" of at least 35°, indicating they are in a sellers' market, with there being more buyers than properties for sale.
Gavin Brazg, creator of PropCast, said: “Although the majority of Hampshire sellers retain the upper hand despite Brexit uncertainty, they still need to position their asking price competitively against other similar houses for sale, if they want to attract multiple offers and achieve the best possible price.
"The local market is still cooling since the UK’s decision to leave the EU.
“Meanwhile those sellers in cold buyers’ markets should not be downhearted because it’s still absolutely possible to sell quickly.
"Buyers are out there; they’re just really picky and only interested in the houses that represent best value for money.”
