A YACHT with five people on board ran aground in Poole Harbour at 1.15pm yesterday.
The 34ft yacht was near Aunt Betty Buoy and Poole Inshore Lifeboat went to its assistance.
When the lifeboat volunteers arrived on scene they found that the vessel had managed to come free but its anchor was still snagged causing the vessel to run aground again. Conditions in the harbour were fair with a slight North easterly wind
A crew member was transferred across and a tow line connected. The vessel continued on passage to the Solent.
The lifeboat returned to the station and was ready for service just before 2pm.
