A LIFEBOAT crew was called to Sandbanks beach after a swimmer got into difficulty and swallowed a lot of water.
Poole Inshore Lifeboat was called at 10pm last night and discovered all persons were accounted for on arrival.
A spokesman for the lifeboat crew said one person was suffering from water inhalation and was on the beach by Sandbanks car park.
Conditions in Poole Bay were choppy with a fresh to strong Easterly wind.
A lifeboat volunteer assessed the people at the scene and the Poole Coastguard rescue team arrived and gave them blankets.
The lifeboat returned to the station at 11.30pm.
