JAZZ By The Sea swings into action this week in a new partnership with St Peter’s Church in Bournemouth and the good news is that most of it is free!

There will be a series of jazz concerts and free events across the town from Thursday, 20 to Sunday, June 30 kicking off with a launch event at Flirt Cafe on Thursday, followed by a ticketed concert featuring well known Bournemouth musician, Zoot Money with his Big Roll band playing their unique style of jazz and rhythm and blues music.

The Flirt cafe is one of a number of local cafes, bars, pubs, hotels and restaurants hosting live jazz events through the festival week. There are a series of free lunchtime jazz concerts in St Peter’s Church and a special fish & chip Jazz Supper on Wednesday night with Susie Kimber and Paul Walker.

Bournemouth’s Cosy Club features live jazz in their lounge on Thursday and Friday night. Café Rouge in Westbourne host local musicians, Rob Koral and Zoe Schwarz on Thursday and Vesuvio will be offering a dinner jazz evening with the Revolution Club band playing their ambient lounge music on Friday night

New to this year’s festival, Meet & Sip Café on the Triangle will be hosting live jazz on Thursday and Saturday night. The festival rounds off with the ever popular Jazz Cruise aboard the Dorset Queen on Sunday, June 30, departing from Poole Quay at 4pm and followed later that evening by Rob and Zoe playing a selection of their Jazz favourites at Chaplin’s Bar.
