A RESTAURANT in Ashley Cross is seeking planning permission to extend its seating area to meet customer demand.

Isabel’s Restaurant has applied to construct a pergola, increasing its dining area by 78sqm.

In a statement submitted with the application, planning consultants said the extension would “intensify the restaurant’s prestigious legacy”.

“The new pergola will be an upgrade on the existing space which is not fully used to its potential,” it said.

“The new area will be more visually appealing as well as allowing the operator to provide more functional space and a more viable business opportunity and asset to the area.”

It said that, if approved, the extension will allow the restaurant to provide a function space and meet customer demand.
