A NORTH Dorset road will close for five days next week while the carriageway is resurfaced.

The A357 through Stalbridge, near Sturminster Newton, will shut in sections.

On Wednesday, June 12, Ring Street will be closed from 9am to 4pm from Grosvenor Road to the entrance to Dikes. There will be vehicle access to the town centre from the north only.

On Thursday, the triangle of Ring Street/High Street, the bottom of Barrow Hill and The Cutting will shut from 9am to 4pm, with vehicle access to the town centre from the south only.

On June 14, 17 and 18, High Street/Church Hill will be closed from 9am until 4pm from St Mary's Church down to the junction with Barrow Hill. Vehicles can get to the town from the south only.

Drivers will be able to access Dike and Sons supermarket throughout the work.
