A GRAND procession more than a mile long once again drew the crowds to Corfe Mullen Carnival.

The biggest event to date saw more local groups than ever taking part and a collection for three charities.

Proceeds from the day have yet to be counted but they will be split between the Community First Responders, Friends of Henbury View First School and the Corfe Mullen Sports Association.

Visitors to the popular event on Saturday were also treated to an array of entertainment at the recreation ground.

Many attractions were subsidised, allowing all to enjoy an affordable day out, thanks to the event sponsors.

They included Richards Estate Agents, Symes Wealth Management, MB Wilkes, Lesley Shand Funeral Services, Seyward Window Co Ltd and Corfe Mullen Parish Council.

Attractions included birds of prey displays, a performance stage with music and entertainment, a food village, funfair and a dog shows.

Organisers of the event are already looking forward to next year and are keen to recruit volunteers and sponsors.
