1 POOLE Harbour Boat Show runs between Friday and Sunday. The event, which is now in its fifth year, will feature free paddle boarding, kayaking or dinghy sailing taster sessions, power boat racing, live music, a freefall parachute display, treasure hunt trail, gin bar and a host of exhibitors. There will even be firework displays at 9.45pm on Friday and Saturday night. The event takes place on Poole Quay and in Poole Quay Boat Haven.

2 CHEESE and chilli fans should flock to Hurn Bridge Equestrian Centre this weekend. The sixth annual Cheese & Chilli Festival will feature cooking demonstrations, tasting tents, a beer festival, street theatre, live music, free crazy golf and even human-sized table football. The festival takes place between 10am and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday and entry costs £6 for adults, £4 for seniors and is free for children under 16.

3 CORFE Mullen Carnival returns today. The procession takes place between 1pm and 2.15pm starting at Ior Road before finishing at the Recreation Ground where there will be events and attractions until 5pm. 

4 BOURNEMOUTH’S Race For Life returns this Sunday. The 5k and 10k events off from Pier Approach at 11am and will see participants raise money for Cancer Research UK.

5 WIMBORNE Minster Folk Festival runs until Sunday. Musical acts lined-up include False Lights, India Electric Co. and Ninebarrow plus there will be events for all the family including dancing, Punch and Judy and circus skills. The main attraction is the procession which takes place on Saturday between 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

6 THRILLSEEKERS can ride a giant water slide down Bournemouth's Richmond Hill this weekend. The 120m inflatable slide with two lanes is back for a second year and visitors will also be able enjoy hot tubs, a bar and food concessions on both days. 7 FAMILIES are invited to pack a feast for Picnic in the Park on Sunday. The free event at Queens Park Golf Club takes place between 1pm and 6pm and includes live music, a dog show, children's races, stalls, rides, face painting and tomobolas.

8 FASHIONISTAS can pick up a bargain at the Bournemouth Pre-loved Vintage Kilo sale at LoveChurch in Gervis Road on Saturday between 10am and 5pm. There will be six tonnes of pre-loved, retro and vintage clothing on sale at £15 per kilo.

9 CBEEBIES presenter Chris Jarvis will host a special orchestral concert for families at Poole's Lighthouse on Saturday afternoon. Chris will be teaming up with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra to host Fairytales & Fantasy at 3pm. People will be able to hear works such as The Firebird by Stravinsky, Grieg’s In the Hall of the Mountain King and music from Harry Potter.

10 FREE Park Yoga sessions continue across Dorset on Sunday. People can take part in sessions in Bournemouth's Central Gardens, Stour Valley Nature Reserve and Moors Valley between 9am and 10am and at Upton County Park and Durlston Country Park between 9.30am and 10.30am. The sessions take place every Sunday morning until September 1.

11 WAGGY Trails will be holding its annual fun dog show at West Parley Memorial Hall on Saturday. Registration opens at 12noon with entry £1 for main classes and 50p for novelty classes. Parking is free.

12 THERE will be something fishy going on in Swanage this weekend. The Swanage Fish Festival is back at Prince Albert Gardens with demonstrations, live music, stalls and more. The festival runs between 11am and 8pm on Saturday and 11am and 4pm on Sunday. Entry is free.
