A BEACH in the New Forest area has been ranked as one of the top six in the UK to visit with your dog this summer.
Milford-on-Sea has been listed as one of the best seaside spots for dog walkers by Dog Friendly Cottages.
The company said the stony beach was “popular with locals and visitors alike” and “dog-friendly all year round”.
The beach backs onto a nature reserve, “providing various paths ideal for dog walks”.
“When guests aren’t taking in the stunning views, there are cafés, ice cream kiosks and even a play area nearby”, Dog Friendly Cottages said.
And if you’re planning a staycation elsewhere in the UK, other top-rated beaches for dog walkers include Sandymouth in Cornwall, with its un-spoilt with coastal grasslands, flowers and rock pools, as well as small, sheltered Babbacombe beach in Devon, Runswick Bay in North Yorkshire, Alnmouth in Northumberland, and Heysham in Lancashire.
“The UK is home to some of the best beaches in the world, and with 60 per cent of dog owners admitting to missing their pets more than their partners or children on holiday, it’s more important than ever to know which coasts welcome dogs when booking a staycation,” Dog Friendly Cottages said.
