The Poole Festival of Running will see a children’s minithon and charity 5k take place on Saturday afternoon, while on Sunday there’s a 10k road race and half-marathon. 2 THERE’S free fun for all the family at Kings Park in Bournemouth on Saturday. The Spring Arts Fest takes place between 12pm and 7pm and will see over 35 traders, a brand new ‘food stretch’, live entertainment courtesy of The Absolute Music Trust, mascot appearances, live demonstrations and a mini funfair.

3 FOODIES will be able to take their pick from a host of tempting treats at the Highcliffe Food and Arts Festival this weekend. The two-day event will see appearances from top chefs Rosemary Shrager and Indian food expert Sarah Ali Choudhury. Visitors will be able to enjoy cookery demonstrations and around 50 craft stalls. Budding young chefs will also be able to get involved in the action at The Kidz Kitchen where they will be able to churn their own butter on the Sunday and join award-winning chocolatier Kerry Witt for a chocolate masterclass. Takes place between 10am and 5pm.

4 POOLE’S Dolphin Shopping Centre will be marking its 50th anniversary with a special fashion show this weekend. The event between 11am and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday, will honour fashion trends since the opening of the centre in 1969.

5 A BRAND new production of The Sound of Music is appearing at the Regent in Christchurch until Saturday. Its run also features two special sing-a-long performances at 7.30pm on Friday and 2.30pm on Saturday where audience participation is encouraged.

5 KING of the one-liners, Gary Delaney, brings his razor sharp wit to Bournemouth tomorrow night. The Mock The Week regular will be performing his latest show, Gangster’s Paradise, at the Pavilion Theatre Ballroom.

6 WAKE early on Saturday for a morning wildlife walk on Brownsea Island. The event takes place between 7.30am and 10am and costs £25 for adults and £12.50 for children. The price includes a walk, boat fare and breakfast.

7 TAKE your four-legged friend along to a fun charity dog show at Hordle Rec in Lymington on Sunday from 10am. There will be 14 different classes, stalls, a raffle, tombola, crafts, refreshments and more.

8 A GIN and fizz festival is being held at The Three Tuns in Bransgore on Saturday between 12pm and 7pm. There will also be live music from Tom Belbin and Johnson Van Dykes, a hog roast, children’s corner, crafts and more. Entry is free.

9 Join the Friends of Druitt Gardens and others for a bioblitz event to celebrate the wildlife living in Druitt Gardens in Christchurch on Saturday between 10am and 3pm.

10 A STEAM and vintage vehicle rally is being held at Lower Bisterne Farm in Kingston near Ringwood on Saturday from 11.30am. There will be miniature traction engines, vintage tractors, working displays, local food and drink, children games and activities, stalls more. Entry is free as is parking and the event is taking place to raise money for the Lighthouse Youth Project in Christchurch which supports and helps young musicians and bands, many of whom will be performing on the day.

11 THE next South Coast Makers Market takes place at Bad Hand Coffee Warehouse in the Triangle on Sunday between 11am and 4pm. Local crafters will be showcasing their wares plus there will be a craft table for children, vegan food and more.
