A YOUNG man discovered dead on Bournemouth Beach last week died of drowning, an inquest heard yesterday.

Botswana-born Temogo Molebedi Ogone Ngwako, aged 20, of Kingswell Gardens, Bournemouth, was found on the beach last Thursday.

Coroner's officer Ken McEwan told Tuesday's short hearing: "Temogo Ngwako had been suffering with some mental health issues.

"He'd gone missing from his home address the previous evening and was found on the beach by a member of the public

"The ambulance came and they confirmed the death.

"Police attended and they conformed there were no suspicious circumstances."

A post mortem examination confirmed Mr Ngwako had died of drowning.

Assistant Dorset Coroner Brendan Allen adjourned Tuesday's inquest until January, next year.

Emergency services were called to the beach, east of Bournemouth Pier early on Thursday, May 23, around 5.53am.

Officers were seen carrying out a detailed search of the beach near Harry Ramsden's, in front of the coloured beach huts.

A police forensics tent was also erected on the beach.
