POLICE are investigating a spate of car crime across Poole, with many of the incidents committed in Canford Heath and Oakdale.

Officers are calling for anyone with information to come forward after a series of problems across the town.

  • At 3.37am on Thursday, May 23, thieves opened the door of an unlocked van parked in Seatown Close, Canford Heath and stole a wallet containing cash after an untidy search.
  • On 6.37pm on Thursday, May 23, thieves broke into a vehicle parked in Twyford Way, Canford Heath and stolen white Bose wireless headphones, a gym bag and two silver Tiffany rings.
  • Sometime between 9.30pm on Wednesday, May 22 and 7am the following day, a TomTom satnav was stolen from a vehicle parked in Chalbury Close, Canford Heath. Loose change was also stolen.
  • Sometime after 3pm on Wednesday, May 22, a would-be thief tried to forced open the window of a car parked in Victoria Road, Newtown. The glass in the window was broken during the attempt.
  • At 1.54 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, the windscreen of a car parked in Verity Crescent, Canford Heath was smashed. The paintwork was also badly scratched.
  • Sometime between 10pm on Tuesday, May 21 and 12.30am the following day, the bodywork of a car parked in Johnston Road, Oakdale was damaged.
  • The front offside quarterlight window of a vehicle in Puddletown Crescent, Canford Heath was damaged sometime after 4.37am on Wednesday, May 22. Nothing was stolen from inside the car.

A spokesperson from Poole police said there have also been more reports of damage to cars in Oakdale. "The offenders have systematically damaged several vehicles in various roads," the spokesperson said.
