DORSET Council has received more than £2 million from the government's Homes England organisation to build 111 homes in its authority area.
The grant - £2,503,836 is part of a £55 million fund to provide 4,000 new homes over England. Twelve local authorities were awarded cash with Dorset being the only local authority in the south west to receive it.
The money will support a range of work required to prepare sites for the development of new homes such as infrastructure enabling works, planning and technical expertise, and site remediation.
